The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has expanded the list of chronic noncommunicable diseases, in the presence of which the patient should be under the doctor's special scrutiny.
The Ministry, on May 7, introduced a new procedure for the observation of a follow-up clinic for chronic adult patients.
In total, the updated list of 28 chronic diseases. These are diseases of the cardiovascular system – hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, coronary heart disease, conditions following surgical interventions in the heart and blood vessels, as well as after a heart attack and stroke. Patients with chronic lung diseases (including the condition after pneumonia) and bronchial asthma are monitored. A gastric and duodenal ulcer, other gastrointestinal diseases and chronic kidney diseases are included in the list.
One of the innovations, along with diabetes of the second type, is included in the list of diseases in which the patient is under medical observation, pre-diabetes is now included – a "borderline" condition in which timely preventive measures can prevent the development of own diabetes. According to the NICTs of endocrinology, at least 20 million people suffer from pre-diabetes in our country.
Thus, the Ministry of Health continues to build a system of preventive medicine, which aims to identify "pre-painful" conditions, as well as early illness, when it is easier to help the person to become healthy.
"Ambulatory observation is a periodic examination of patients suffering from chronic diseases, functional disorders, in order to prevent or detect exacerbation of the disease and possible complications in time," explained the Ministry of Health's "GT." transmitted diseases ".
The frequency of the examination with subsequent consultation of the doctor depends on the disease, which the patient suffers, in most cases will be two or three times a year. For the doctor, the patient will be invited.
"A medical officer authorized by a medical institution should inform patients under a regular medical check-up that they need to go to the reception," said the Ministry of Health.
In the area of physician responsibility, not only the control over the patient's condition, examination and prescription of the necessary treatment, but also the patient's training in self-control skills. Patients should also be taught to act in the event of a life-threatening condition, the ministry said.
