Henrik Fisker, known as the designer of the Aston Martin DB9 and BMW Z8, now plans to launch an electric crossover under his own brand Fisker Inc. The novelty will cost about $ 40,000 and have a cruising range of 500km – all this will make it a competitor to the new Tesla Y model.

Fisker Inc has existed since 2016. Before that, Henrik Fisker had already tried to launch its Fisker Automotive brand. The only model in its range was the hybrid Karma sedan, which failed to sell. In 2013, Fisker Automotive filed for bankruptcy.

Regarding the new model, it is known that it will receive batteries with a capacity of 80 kWh and a power reserve of 500 km. All this is stated for the basic version of the price of 40 thousand dollars. For comparison, the Tesla Model Y with a similar power reserve costs $ 51,000.

The company is also working on the EMotion sports sedan, but its launch had to be frozen indefinitely – the solid-state battery technology, in which Fisker worked, was not ready for use in a commercial model.
