After all the success it has had in the US, Tesla seeks to conquer new markets, focusing mainly on Chinese and European. If in China the position may not be the brightest, in Europe it goes from wind into savings.
The latest data, referring to March, show that Tesla hit some of the consecrated manufacturers. BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz were behind the American company.
We already knew the interest of Europeans in Tesla cars, and the market is still adapting to the proposals that the brand has. Both the Model X and the Model S have paved the way for the most awaited model 3.
It was precisely this car that came to give a new breath to this industry, with a more affordable proposal and with the same levels of quality and performance of the rest. If until now it was still confined to some countries, its dominance in sales grew, although in the electrical ones.
But this scenario has now changed, in May, with Model 3 sales firing globally in Europe. It was in such a big way that it hit several recognized brands, such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
The data revealed that sales of cars such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series or Mecedes-Benz C-Class were behind the new model of Tesla. JATO Dynamics data revealed that Model 3 sold a total of 15,755 units. Already in the previous month, this car sold 3,747 units.
Curiously, and as a result of this arrival, the remaining Tesla models lost sales. Model S and Model X experienced a sales breakdown of 72% (787 units) and 52% (874 units), respectively.
Model 3 sales are expected to continue to rise in the coming months, a result of 2 factors. The first comes from the delivery of the orders made since 2016 and the second of the aggressive sales actions that the brand is doing in some European countries.
