Fantastic Animals: The Crimes of Grindelwald finally made it to theaters. Instead Fantastic Animals, I found that the female characters played important roles in each plot that unfolded. Some were unexpected, while others were typical women we love to see. We talked about the four that stood out and made an impact, and no, Queenie is not on this list for many reasons, but you'll have to watch the movie to understand what I'm talking about.
Tina Goldstein showed strong features throughout the film. First, it is an auror, which means that it is part of the magic law of the ministry of magic. What does she do? Just investigate crimes related to the dark arts. She does not let anything get in the way of her work, especially her feelings about Newt. She stays among the men and survives all the action to get to the end of the movie.
Zoë Kravitz is back as Leta Lestrange and we see more of her than in the first film. As the plot of the movie revolves around his family tree, we can see many flashbacks of his life. At Hogwarts, she was mistreated, but she stood alone. During one of the more tense scenes of the film, she did something that I honestly did not expect. Instead of joining Grindelwald, she sacrificed her life to save all others who could not escape the flames, including Newt, Jacob, Nagini, and Theseus. It was an emotional and action-packed scene.
Nagini is a complex character. Here, we see her before she meets Voldemort. She is a maledictus, which means she carries a blood curse and eventually will not be able to turn back into her human form. But in the movie, we get to see her before all this. Because she could turn into a snake, she was made an attraction in a traveling circus. After finally having enough, she managed to escape with the help of Credence. She also remains strong and balanced when Credence begins to get emotional and out of control despite her own problems. In the end, she's sort of left alone, but I'm anxious to see how her character develops in the next few episodes.
Bunty is only minutes from the movie, but I found his character intriguing. In addition to obviously having feelings for Newt, let's focus on your work. Continuing from the first installment, Newt still has beasts to care for. When he's not there, Bunty does all the work. It feeds them, treats diseases and basically ensures that all these fantastic beasts are in order. This is not easy considering the type of creature she is dealing with.
