CEBU CITY, Philippines – A police officer from the town of Himamaylan in Negros Occidental accused the mayor of the city of Cebu, Tomas Osmeña, of carnage and robbery.
Patrolman Romil Gelogo claimed that Osmeña took his Honda TMX motorcycle and a 150,000 Tag Heuer wristwatch that was kept in his motorcycle's toolbox.
Osmeña confronted Gelogo whom he saw leaving the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) on Sunday around 1:30 am after he saw that the policemen were only wearing shorts and slippers to match his T-shirt and dark colored jacket.
The mayor said he had the bike from Gelogo, which was seized by Citom, after he discovered that it also had side mirrors and registration sticker.
"By law, the mayor receives police authority and, in fact, is in charge of the police. Why did he refuse to obey when asked for his driver's license, registration and police identity, and why he backed off to the camp after I asked him if he was running away and not complying? ", Said the FB post from Osmeña.
