PDEA-7 arrests grandmother in Labangon drug attack

CEBU CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Agency for Drugs in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) arrested one elderly man and five others in Sitio Bugnay 1, Barangay Labangon during a drug crackdown on Tuesday, April 30.

PDEA-7 spokeswoman Leia Albiar said that Delma Mahilum, 68, and an elderly citizen, was the target of the anti-drug raid.

Albiar said that Mahilum runs a two-bedroom house that has been rented to different renters.

One of his tenants reported suspicious activity in the area and officials saw the need to put Mahilum under surveillance. According to the tenant, several rooms in the house managed by Mahilum were being used as drug caches or places for group sessions.

Confiscated from Mahilum were illegal drugs worth P71,000.

Other individuals arrested during the anti-drug raid were Hanley Go, 25, Serafin Mahilum, 31, Josue Kaparida, 19, Bhartholome Abella 22 and someone with the surname Villaflores, 29.

A certain Alfonso Dadula Jr. escaped the operation and is currently on the loose. / cell
