The "sleep box" lights up when Mark Zuckerberg's daughters must wake up
Mark Zuckerberg said he built a shiny wooden box to help his wife Priscilla sleep better at night without having to check her phone to see if it's time to take a look at her children.
The "sleep box" emits a very dim light between 6 AM and 7 AM – when daughters are expected to wake up. He does not show the time when it would stress her and interrupt her sleep, said the president of Facebook Inc. in a post on Instagram on Saturday.
"So far this has worked better than I expected and now she can sleep through the night," Zuckerberg said, adding that the device is already popular with friends. "I'm putting this out in case another businessman wants to run with this and build sleeping boxes for more people!"
Not everyone was impressed. British singer Lily Allen criticized Facebook's effectiveness in containing racist content by asking if there was an algorithm to eliminate white supremacy.
Last month, Facebook announced plans to ban content that refers to white nationalism and white separatism by taking an important step toward reducing racism and hate speech on the site.
The problem of white nationalism was amplified in March when the murderer responsible for the deaths of 50 people in New Zealand posted an online racist manifesto and used the Facebook platform to broadcast the massacre in two live mosques.
