Dof Las Vegas. Promoted as "the ultimate mobility vehicle" that can help in case of natural disasters, Hyundai has developed this impressive prototype robot that was presented at CES 2019.

As we said earlier, this prototype merges several of the characteristics of a car with that of a robot: it is based on a modular EV platform (electric vehicle) and has the ability to combine different bodies for specific situations. The robotic architecture and design of the vehicle's joints give it a unique ability to mimic the walking of mammals and reptiles, allowing it to move in any direction.

Joints are also folded in a stored handling mode where power is cut off from the gaskets and the use of an integrated passive suspension system maximizes battery efficiency. This allows the Elevate to be used like any other vehicle under normal conditions, while in extreme conditions it is able to climb on a wall, cross any terrain and adapt while keeping your body and passengers completely level.

In this regard, John Suh, vice president and head of Hyundai CRADLE, the division responsible for its development, explained: "When a tsunami or earthquake occurs, current rescue vehicles can only take emergency personnel to the edge of the debris and have to walk the rest of the way on foot. The lift can be driven to the site and climb directly onto flooded debris or collapsed concrete. This technology goes far beyond emergency situations.People with disabilities who do not have access to a ramp can stop an independent Hyundai Elevate that can walk to the door of your house, level and allow your wheelchair to turn directly inside. The possibilities are unlimited ".
