Sega takes control of production – unveils launch date

Retro consoles have really been in the wind in recent years, and now the date is ready for the small gaming console of the Sega gaming company.

On September 19 this year, the Sega Mega Drive Mini will be on the market, also in Norway, but 40 different games embedded.

Cut the controversial outsourced vendor

The console was developed by Sega itself, which is great news for many enthusiasts. The Sega Mega Drive Mini coming in September is, in theory, the third retro variant of the Sega gaming console released in the market.

However, the first two were made by a company called ATgames, which worked with a license from Sega. These often receive unfortunate criticism from those who have already experienced them. When Sega revealed for the first time that it was working on a new console retro about a year ago, they said that ATgames would succeed, but since then they have decided to take over the production themselves.

The movement of production "at home" is also the reason why the game console has been delayed for so long.

Most Popular Names

Sega holds the cards close to the chest and so far only revealed ten of the games that come with the game console. However, there must be many well-known titles for anyone who played in the 1990s, such as the original Sonic The Hedghog, Altered Beast, Castlevania and Gunstar Heroes.

Here is the complete list of games they have released so far:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Ecco the dolphin
  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • Space Harrier II
  • Bright Force
  • Dr. Robotnik Medium Bean Machine
  • ToeJam & Earl
  • Comix Zone
  • Altered Beast
  • Heroes benefits

The official Norwegian price is not yet known, but in the US it will cost $ 79.99 (NOK 688), which is probably a Norwegian price of NOK 799. It includes all the necessary cables as well as two wired manual controllers.
