Normann's contract with the Premier League giant leaves for the summer.
Edvard Sandvik Tagseth, 18, played for Liverpool U-18 and U23 teams in recent seasons, but in summer the contract with the reds is over.
Both Liverpool Echo and The Mirror write Tuesday that the Norwegian is among the players who can be released by Liverpool after the season. Tore Tagseth, the promising young man's father, says, however, that his son received an extension of the club.
– Received offers
This offer he should not be willing to accept and therefore indicates much that the 18-year team in the Premier League club ended in the summer.
– He has been offered a two-year professional contract with renegotiations on July 1, 2020. On several occasions, he has no desire to sign, says Tore Tagseth to Nettavisen.
The midfielder wants, according to his father, new sports challenges.
– It's not economical, but he wants another kind of personal football development. He was knocked down twice and wants more technique and offensive development in the future, says Tagseth's father about the son's plight.
There must be several possible alternatives for a new club.
– At where? There are several alternatives. That's all we can say now, he says.
Tagseth is considered one of the greatest talents of Norwegian football and permanently entered the youth academy of Liverpool in the summer of 2017. He has been on several visits to the big club in advance. He was also on trial at Manchester United in 2015. Everton and Manchester City are also interested in him before choosing Liverpool.
Tagseth has been on several occasions compared to Martin Ødegaard.
In the Merseyside club, Tageth worked with club legend Steven Gerrard, for example as U18 coach at the club, and the legend was impressed.
"We're trying to develop his game even more. He is a player you love to use. He is an honest player who solves both parts of the game in a very good way. If "Eddi" gets more goals and intentional passes in his game, he will become one of the best players, Gerrard told the Norwegian on the club's website in 2018.
Lately, however, Tageth has been struggling with more injuries and as a result he has received much less time playing in the Liverpool system last season.
In February last year, the midfielder received the so-called "stress reaction" on the left leg between the knee and the tendon, which made him miss the rest of the season. This summer he came back from injury, but this winter there were new problems, which rarely did a good number of games in the young.
– More to come
According to the website Transfermarkt, the Norwegian has played seven games in the English U18 Championship this season and scored a goal. He also played a match in the FA Youth Cup.
Liverpool recently won the last tournament, with the final victory over Manchester City.
Local newspaper Liverpool Echo mentioned, as mentioned, Tagseth in an article Tuesday.
The newspaper writes the following about the situation:
"Edvard Tageth, who has fought a fight against injuries since joining the club in 2017, is another player that may disappear. Norway's respected 18-year-old Steven Gerrard was a great admirer during his time as coach, by Barry Lewta's U18 team this season but he failed to establish himself on the team and recreated the way he had before he suffered an injury in 2018 that caused the season ended on his part. "
In addition to Tageth, the local newspaper believes these players can also leave Liverpool this summer: Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno, Bobby Adekanye, Adam Bogdan, Juanma Garcia, Corey Whelan, Conor Masterson and Connor Randall.
