Half an hour earlier, the operations center said the fire had been reported.

"The house is outdated," said operational manager Wenche Johnsen in the Trøndelag police district.

It was a passerby who discovered the fire in Berkåk in Rennebu.

The fire message arrived at 7:56 pm Thursday night.

"The house should not be inhabited now because it is under renovation based on the information we get," says operations manager Trond Volden a little later.

Technical investigations of crime

Operations manager Bjørn Handegard says at 11 o'clock the house is locked. On Friday there will be technical-criminal investigations in place. The extent of the damage is not fully known by the police operations center.

"We do not talk about total damage, so the house is still there," says Handegard.

He says a family of four will live in the house.

– There is no risk of spreading, but the house is located between the E6 and the railway in Berkåk, so it is very visible. The house is not close enough for E6 or Dovrebanen that some of the parts have to be closed, explained Violence before the fire was extinguished.
