The 61-year-old entertainment mogul suffered a horrible fall while testing an electric bike in August, which resulted in a back fracture that almost left him paralyzed and in need of emergency surgery.
And now, her close friend Sinitta said that Simon is “bright, happy and clear” as he continues on his road to recovery, although she noted that he had to abandon the vegan diet that made him lose four stones.
She explained: “I spoke to him last week and it looked much better.
“He was not stunned, sedated or weak. He was really smart, happy and clear. He gained a little weight and is looking healthier. He said he needed to start eating protein, calcium and breaking his vegan diet to regain his strength. .
“That’s the wisest thing. He was bloated and stressed, so he was very thin and exhausted.
“Now he is fit and relaxed. He has found his sweet spot.
“He looks relieved and excited. The sea breeze is so healing and rejuvenating.”
Sinitta also said that Simon’s partner, Lauren Silverman, and her six-year-old son, Eric, have been “the best medicine” for the creator of X Factor.
She added to the Biz on Sunday column of The Sun on Sunday: “Lauren said Eric has been the best medicine because he is very playful.
“Initially, the ordeal was a terrible blow – very depressing, very scary. He was in a lot of pain that he needed to control.
“It was a little blurry, but he couldn’t afford to entertain those thoughts.
“He was looking at Eric and thinking, ‘I have to get over this somehow.’
“He is Mr. Invincible and he will definitely go through with it.”
Meanwhile, it has recently been reported that Simon is ahead of his recovery from back surgery.
A source said this month: “He is doing very well and is recovering well and ahead of what was expected.
“He is taking more than 10,000 steps a day, in addition to swimming to get his back strong and healed again. He no longer needs to wear orthopedic braces all the time.”
