Sarah Hyland has pitted herself against critics who criticized her for doubling the shapewear at a recent event.
In photos of Vanity Fair Oscar party she shared via Instagram and Twitter, the Modern Family radiant star in a pink flamingo, a shoulder dress by Zac Posen.
"#funfact I'm using two pairs of spanx," Hyland, 28, captioned the post, which showed his visual from various angles. "Why diet? When you can just hide it!"

Some famous faces applauded her.
"Just one of the many reasons why I love you so much," wrote singer Nicole Scherzinger.
"It's not the truth," jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz responded with a grinning emoji.
However, not everyone was a fan of his legend.
"Yes, I do not need to see this when I already feel (curse word) about my body," wrote one commentator on Instagram. "So thanks for that."

Sarah Hyland's diet joke did not go down well on social media.
"What an irresponsible post from someone with influence.You are transparent about your problems gaining weight, so imagine how confusing and disturbing this post is for some people.Please consider addressing your mistake, you can do better!" another wrote on the image sharing site.
"Ummmm, hide what exactly?" a Twitter user wrote. "You're perfectly fine, maybe a bit too skinny, here's a sandwich!"
What Hyland's critics may not be aware of is that the actress has a lump in the lower abdomen, a result of kidney transplantation. (After undergoing kidney failure, she received a kidney from her father in 2012. Hyland's transplanted kidney was removed in 2017 and she received a kidney from her brother the same year.)
"When they do a kidney transplant, they connect the new kidney to their old kidneys up front," she said. Self in an article published in December.
