Emergency services are responding to a bus accident on Mayoral Drive, at Auckland CBD.
A bus collapsed on a pole on a busy road at Auckland CBD.
Police said the crash occurred on Mayoral Drive around 7:35 pm on Wednesday.
Bus passengers were not injured, but the driver "appears to have suffered a medical event," police said.
St John spokeswoman Beverley Tse said three ambulances were called to the scene at 9.35.
Mayoral Drive was partially blocked at the intersection with Grays Ave, police said.
"The major accident unit will examine the scene so that the public is asked to avoid the area."
An on-site witness said a CityLink red bus appeared to be turning from Mayoral Drive to Greys Ave when it struck a post on the corner.
A man can be seen on a stretcher in an ambulance, she said.
Fire, ambulance and police were all on site and a screen was put up to block people's sight on the accident, she said.
