With the force of a series of encouraging stimuli, the lyrical genius of Houston rapper Tobe Nwigwe and a legendary teaser in the final seconds, Sony San Diego Studios got off to a sensational start with its pre-launch ad campaign for MLB The Show 19.

The trailer is only 98 seconds long, but there was a lot in the preview. Take a look:

Here are the things I got:

Road to the Show is getting deeper

RTTS – MLB Show 19Credit: Sony San Diego

There were several segments that showed glimpses of the RTTS. The airplane, the room, the training / training and the Dynamic Challenges are almost certainly the single player mode. In recent years, RTTS has had a non-linear history. It is unclear if this is going to change, but it seems safe to say that SSDS is trying to add more layers.

Layers of the franchise mode team

It looks like teams are layered when you start your franchise mode. The levels appear to be: favorites, contenders, underdogs and longshots. Again, all information is not available, but it seems that teams at each level will have different goals and objectives.

It is also possible that levels help regulate business logic and more.

Moments

That screen with Babe Ruth was really intriguing. Based on what we see on the screen, it seems that The Show will feature an individual player-driven player-lock experience that will allow you to relive the best moments in the careers of a variety of legends.

Ruth is the only one revealed in the picture above, but there are clearly more legends whose experience you can unlock. This reminds me a lot of the Jordan Challenge and the All-Time Greatest of the NBA 2K. These characteristics were excellent, although they were taken.

With Player-Lock at MLB The Show, it is possible that this concept is even better.

Diamond Dynasty Outline

There are many references to Dynasty in the trailer. One seemed to have some sort of scratch screen, but read "1 of 1" choice on each screen, so you can not tell if this is a new feature within Dynasty Diamond or maybe a new interface for Battle Royale mode.

As I learn more about this, I will share the details.

Different Versions of Diamond Dynasty Players

Since collector modes generally have multiple versions of a player, it would be great if players had renderings with age accuracy. It seems that The Show will be the first to do this in detail. In the trailer, there were clearly two different versions of Tony Gwynn, as well as Andrew McCutchen.

This is great for immersion. With luck, the various versions are available for offline use in franchise mode.

New Legends … including Willie Mays

MLB The Show 19MLB The Show 19

I saw Christy Mathewson, Jason Kendall, Rob Dibble and the great Willie Mays in the trailer. The re-creation of the 1954 Mays iconic catch of the World Series was really the cherry on top of a delicious virtual baseball cookie. Identity recently wrote about a list of legends which still needed to be added to the legends legend of the Show.

Mays was one of those players, so it's good to see him added to the mix.

Many little things

Chris Sale, David Price and McCashen, who wore an apparent beard, appeared to have new renders. The Boston Red Sox World Series banner is at Fenway Park, and there have also been a number of new field animations. In fact, there's probably as much as I did not see. The show premieres exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on March 26, and it would have been difficult for Sony to generate more news with a trailer.
