14 confirmed cases of dengue in Cook Islands


There are now 14 confirmed cases of dengue type 1 in the Cook Islands.

The outbreak, which focuses on the main island of Rarotonga, has increased since it was declared in early March.

Since the last update of the Ministry of Health, there have been another 8 confirmed cases, while another six are considered probable.

The health secretary, Josephine Herman, told the News from Cook Islands on Saturday, three patients were admitted to the Rarotonga Hospital.
