Van Bommel is not looking for excuses, despite the wretched field of Wembley

The poor condition at Wembley can not prevent PSV from getting a good result against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night. Coach Mark van Bommel demands the same imperturbability in the run-up to the Champions League as in the Dutch league.

"In the Netherlands we have artificial grass, you have to prepare for it, and this also applies to this competition," says Van Bommel. "That's why it's good to be training here now, we have to do the best we can."

The lawn of the iconic stadium was severely damaged last Sunday by a football game that changed the tone in parts of a desert plain.
