Right hand "climate trawler" leaves for Shell | Interior

Van Zeeland was already a political adviser when Alexander Pechtold was still in charge of the D66. Now that Rob Jetten has been in charge since the end of last year, she's leaving.

Green left laughter

The GroenLinksers have to laugh because of the special party change that they proudly bothered during the campaign as "climate trawler" to a place in the big oil multinational.

Politics in The Hague is also raising its eyebrows because Van Zeeland was intimately involved in the discussions on the climate deal and can now use that knowledge as a "New Energy Governance Relations Adviser" at Shell.

CU leader Gert-Jan Segers supports the D66 advisor on Twitter. "Thank you for all your hard work and enjoy your new place."

It is the second time in a short time that a political advisor is in the spotlight. Prime Minister Rutte's right-hand man, Caroliene Hermans, was news last week when the VVD leader completely lost the topic during an electoral debate and tried to get help out loud for the rotating cameras. "Caroliene, help!"
