American astronauts Anne McClain and Christina Koch would carry out installation works together on the outside of the International Space Station ISS. McClain also took a space walk last Friday. The top of your space suit should be medium-sized, but only one of them seems to be available. That's why Koch gets the top on Friday. McClain's place is taken by Nick Hague. This Monday McClain will be in turn with Canadian David Saint-Jacques.
In more than half a century of space travel, little more than sixty women were in space, as opposed to nearly five hundred men. Valentina Tereshkova, of the Soviet Union, was the first woman in space in 1963. In 1984, Svetlana Savitskaja was the first woman to make a space walk. She and her successors always did so in the company of a man. Koch becomes the fourteenth woman on a space walk.
