The beginning of the month of Ramadan is for very soon in Morocco. According to astronomer Hassan Talbi, the first day of this holy month will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The university researcher, who gives every year the date of the beginning of Ramadan, has never been mistaken about his predictions.
According to Talbi's calculations, Aid Al Fitr will happen this year on June 5, 2019. "Which means that the next holy month of fasting would last only 29 days instead of 30 days."
Hours of work in public administrations and local communities will be organized during the holy month of Ramadan from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In relation to schools, the times will also change.
The fasting period begins at the beginning of the new moon and ends at the beginning of the next lunar cycle. Even though astronomical calculations make it possible to know exactly the day of the new moon, the Moroccan tradition requires that the star be observable with the naked eye. But it is the Ministry of Habos and Islamic Affairs that officially announces the date of the beginning of Ramadan in Morocco.
Remember that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Morocco will return to legal time GMT Sunday, May 5 at 3:00.
After the month of Ramadan, legal time must be advanced in 60 minutes on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00.
