Rabat- The work of the 4th international congress of the Moroccan Society of Emergency Medicine (SMMU) ended on Saturday in Rabat, in the presence of a host of national and international professionals from the world of medicine.
In a remote address during the closing ceremony of the congress, the president of SMMU, Dr. Lahcen Belyamani, praised the commitment of all members of SMMU who, according to him, “kept this soul force that is ours and that allowed us to overcome the obstacles and maintain a good line of conduct throughout this Covid-19 period ”.
“Despite the difficulties and complexity of the period that we are going through, we have made a point of maintaining our agenda and meeting again at this edition of our international congress which, under the circumstances, is going on in a hybrid way with total respect for all measures barrier ”, he stressed.
The second day of the Congress included the organization of six workshops and no less than ten conferences dealing mainly with the management of Covid-19 by health professionals, the different modes of intervention and the role of the main medical specialties in this area.
A tribute was also paid by the SMMU to two emergency doctors, for their commitment and dedication to the profession. They are two emergency doctors, namely Dr Naïma Bounouas, an emergency physician at the Mohammed V military education hospital in Rabat, and Dr Hicham Bahiri, specialist in emergency and disaster medicine at Prince Moulay Abdellah Provincial Hospital in Salé .
In addition, the award for this 4th edition was awarded to Ghita Chaoui and Hajar Moujtahid, 5th year medical students at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat, for their work on “the gap between practices and theory in emergency medicine” with cardiopulmonary resuscitation as an example.
