Death of Mimoun El Oujdi
He's gone. Moroccan singer Mimoun El Oujdi died Saturday morning from a long illness.
At age 68, the artist fought for several months against cancer. It appeared very weak a few weeks ago in a video posted on social networks waking up a wave of solidarity between Moroccans and artists.
"My brother Mimoun El Oujdi is dead. We are to God and to Him we return," wrote his brother Kamal, also a singer.
Mimoun El Oujdi died in the Military Hospital of Rabat, where he was transferred after the deterioration of his state of health.
