BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) – The five-year survival rate of Chinese breast cancer patients has reached 83.2%, 7.3% in the last decade according to the 2019 annual meeting on breast cancer of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology. (CSCO)
New cases of breast cancer account for 16.51% of new cases of malignant tumors in women in China, making it the most common cancer in women, according to the meeting.
An updated guideline on breast cancer diagnosis and treatment was released at the meeting.
"The new guideline incorporated drug content developed independently by China and updated content on all subtypes of breast cancer at all stages," said CSCO Secretary-General Jiang Zefei during the meeting.
An intelligent system that helps clinicians make clinical decisions has been released at the meeting.
According to the meeting, several hospitals have built a big data platform that collects clinical data on breast cancer, which will make it easier for clinicians to optimize clinical decisions.
