Sadio Mane: Liverpool star sends message to fans by Real Madrid transfer | Football | Sport

The Reds' winger was in top form this season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions.

And Mane will want to impress tonight as Liverpool meet Porto in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Reds are 2-0 overall after an impressive win last week at Anfield.

"Of course I want to be a legend not only for Liverpool, but also for the history of the Premier League, and this is one of my targets. I will do my best to achieve everything possible, "explained Mane LFC Magazine.

"Achieving 100 games means a lot to me.

"Playing so many games for a club like Liverpool is incredible.

"As I've always said, I'm very happy to play in this club and every day I'm enjoying being here and trying to do everything to win something for this club."

Mane also opened the game for Jurgen Klopp.

He believes that the close bond that the coach has with his team makes Liverpool a unique experience.

Mane explained: "He loves all his players and is very close to his players as well.

"He also demands a lot, but never presses us beyond asking the best of us.

"He just asks you to do the best you can and enjoy it.

"I think this is important because, under him, everyone has made a lot of progress, as everyone can see.

"It's very important that we work with him for more years."

Liverpool are still struggling on two fronts this season.

A win against Porto tonight sets up a Champions League semi-final with Barcelona.

And the Reds are also battling Manchester City for their first Premier League win in almost 30 years.

Liverpool return to the top flight on Sunday when they face Cardiff, threatened by relegation (16h).
