By 2019, OnePlus will adopt a two-model version featuring OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. In recent weeks, we've seen piles of renderings at the top of the OnePlus 7 Pro line and now we have a clearer view of the unprofessional version, OnePlus 7.
Shortly after revealing images from the press of OnePlus 7 Pro, Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de shared some photos and specifications of the standard OnePlus 7 model. When placed side by side with the OnePlus 6T from last year, it is very difficult to distinguish the part of the two models.
At the front, the OnePlus 7 is said to keep the same AMOLED display of 6.41 "which pushes a Full HD + resolution of 2340 × 1080. Unlike the Pro model, there is a selfie pop-up camera, so the device gets a dew drop notch. As there is no fingerprint sensor on the back, this means that the OnePlus 7 will offer a fingerprint sensor on the screen.
In terms of construction, the OnePlus 7 will continue to use a combination of glass and metal that forms a subtle curve on the sides. The biggest differentiation is the dual camera element on the back. The OnePlus 7's dual camera has the LED flash included in the same bump, while the OnePlus 6T LED flash is flush with the glass panel. If you look closely at the bottom, the OnePlus 7 standard does not even have a headphone jack, which is also missing in the 6T.
Under the hood, the non-Pro model is expected to run on the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 processor with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, as well as internal storage options of 128 GB and 256 GB.
For the rear camera, the device is expected to contain the same 48MP main shot model as the Pro model along with a 5MP secondary camera for depth effects. Unfortunately, it does not have a telephoto camera or an ultra wide angle unit like other modern flagships.
According to Roland, the OnePlus 7 standard will receive a 3,700mAh battery that is the same capacity as the current OnePlus 6T. It is also likely that the OnePlus will include a faster 30W Warp Charger with the device that is similar to the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition.
OnePlus 7 will be officially announced on May 14, 2019. While the Pro model is expected to require a premium, we believe that the OnePlus 7 standard will maintain its RM2,500-RM3,000 price range.
