Alberto Moreno & # 39; to sign two-year contract with Barcelona & # 39;

Liverpool's left-back Alberto Moreno can close a two-year deal with Barcelona, according to a report from Spain's Sport.

Moreno – who is out of contract at Anfield in the summer – was expected to sign a contract with Lazio in Serie A in Rome last week when he was photographed with former Reds teammate and current midfielder Lucas Leiva .

But now it is alleged that Barça have advanced in the battle for their signing in a free transfer, and will put it as cover for the current left-back of the club, Jordi Alba.

Moreno played 141 games for Reds

Moreno, 26, has signed a contract with the Seville Reds for £ 12m in the summer of 2014 but has had a spell at Anfield.

Although occasionally impressive, lapses of concentration, as in the 2016 Europa League final against his former employers, used to count against him.

He earned his place earlier this season and impressed, but injuries and the emergence of Andy Robertson made playing time extremely limited for him.

He has scored just five times in all competitions this season, with his last game coming to a FA Cup loss at Wolves in January.

Sport claims that Moreno is one of three players Barça are approaching, along with Ajax Matthijs defender Ligt and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.
