If your New Year's resolution was ever something like "drink more water," you know how much of a fight the proper hydration can be.

Lead a hectic life can sometimes turn simple things like drinking enough water in a daily challenge. As a result, you may be walking with a mild case of dehydration, even without realizing it.

Here are some subtle signs that you are dehydrated and may be missing.

You get all the cold that goes through the office.

Although skipping your normal glass of water at lunch probably does not result in an immediate case of influenza, letting your body get chronically dehydrated can leave you susceptible to common insects like the cold.

A stealthy symptom of dehydration is a perceived increase in appetite. This usually happens when you confuse thirst for hunger.

"Lightweight dehydration is often masked as a feeling of hunger, when in fact your body needs only liquids," Alissa Rumsey, a spokeswoman for the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, told Health.

A good way to curb tasteless snacks is to make sure you have a glass of water before you dig this bag of chips.

And you crave sweets more than tasty food.

If you are craving too much cake, you may be dehydrated.

When the body confuses feelings of thirst with those of hunger, you are more likely to desire sweet things than snacks.

According to Joan Kent, PhD, dehydration can actually lead to more sugar cravings. For a LinkedIn article, Kent wrote: "Desires for sweet foods are common as well because the process of producing glycogen involves water and glucose, the circulating sugar in the body. Dehydration makes it harder for the body to produce glycogen, not just release it. "

Sugar is a quick and easy source of glucose so you can find cookies or fruit more often if you are not getting enough water.

Your hard workout does not leave you sweaty.

If your skin looks dry and fresh after a tiring workout, this can be a sign that you are seriously dehydrated.

According to Aaptiv, the most common reason you are not sweating is because you are dehydrated.

Reaching this stage in dehydration means you need to drink some fluids as quickly as possible and potentially seek medical attention, especially if you have other symptoms of dehydration.

By Healthline, most people urinate around six or seven times in a 24-hour period. This translates to a break in the bathroom almost three hours during the day. Although some people may pee less depending on factors such as bladder size and use of medication, you should consider moisturizing more often if you only find yourself in the bathroom a few times a day. Using an application to track your water intake or bathroom visits can be helpful.

You have a itchy scaly scalp.

While not the only one to blame, dehydration may be the cause of your itchy scalp.

You probably know that dehydration can make the skin dry, but you may not have realized that dryness can extend up the scalp. The Cleveland Clinic noted that not getting enough water can lead to itching and dry scalp.

Although there are other conditions that can cause itching at the top, lack of fluids along with drying environments, such as heated rooms or air-conditioned offices, can cause the scalp to dry out. Solve this by raising your water intake and switching to a medicated shampoo if needed.

You are drowsy even if you are getting enough sleep.

It is normal to feel tired if you are not getting enough water.

When your body is dehydrated, it does not work as well as it should. According to the UK National Health Service (NHS), fatigue and fatigue are often signs of dehydration.

If you know you have eight full hours of sleep the night before but are still feeling sluggish, you can try drinking a few glasses of water.
