BMW introduces the four-way model of the series 8 (+ PHOTO)


BMW has published images and information on the 8th Gran Coupe Series, which will compete in the market with Porsche Panamera, Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS.

The 8th series already has a coupe and convertible, but is now accompanied by the 4-door Gran Coupe. In the design area, it is similar to a coupe, but is 201 mm longer (5082 mm), 30 mm wider (1932 mm) and 66 mm higher (1407 mm). The wheelbase increased 231 mm compared to the coupe, but the luggage compartment has 440 liters.

The base version of the Gran Coupe will be equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine that develops 320 hp and 680 Nm of torque. There is also a 335-liter 335-hp (369 Nm) gas turbocharger and a 4.4-liter petrol engine with 530 hp (750 Nm) that will deliver 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. All engines work in combination with the Steptronic 8-step gearbox.

The Gran Coupe is equipped with a rear differential lock and a new suspension with electronically adjustable shock absorbers. The car is available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. There will be digital meters and a new multimedia system equipment that can also be managed with voice and gestures.

Later, the Gran Coupe M model will offer the offer. In this case, there will be a 4.4 liter V8 engine with two turbines in the engine room, which will develop 600 hp in the standard version and 625 hp in the modification of the competition.

The 8th Series Gran Coupe will be available for sale in September.
