The Australian version of "The King of the Mask Singer" was hugely popular.
KOTRA's Melbourne Trade Commission Australia has announced statistics about the Australian version of Masked King Season 1, which aired on Network 10 in September and October. Accordingly, the Australian version of the masked king received much attention, as it ranked number one on the same day and period. In particular, the first broadcast of 1.56 million people has seen the highest rankings ever made on Network 10 since 2015.
The Australian version of the masked king was larger than Korea, as was the US version. The Oscar-winning designer made faces and masks and also modeled various animals, plants and objects such as robots, wolves, monsters, unicorns and spiders.
The artists attracted many participants who prided themselves on their Australian pride and nostalgia, including Australian Hollywood stars, retired athletes and remnant country musicians.
It has also been able to attract young viewers by actively promoting it through social networking services (SNS) such as YouTube.
Kotra Melbourne's trade official said: "As the Australian version of masked music has proved its popularity, we can collaborate with Korea as a co-development of bilateral formats and dramas."
MBC's music and entertainment program, King of Masked Artists, has been exported to over 40 countries worldwide, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The American version of the masked king made a box office last season, attracting more than 14 million viewers.
