FROM MONDAY BULLOVER IN NORTH AFRICA EXPANSION. Confirmations continue to come from numerical models of the North African heatwave that will invade the central Mediterranean and Italy from the beginning of next week. In fact, the last week of the month will be characterized by a powerful anticyclonic promontory rising from the Algerian Sahara to the center-west of Europe, also passing through Italy.

THE CAUSE. The elevation of the scorching Algerian wave as a result of the descent of the cooler air from the North Atlantic origin to the Iberian coasts which will fuel stationary depression for more days in the same areas. Reflecting very hot air masses from North Africa, they will move eastward, in correspondence with the central Mediterranean, targeting the continent and feeding the high pressure.

ALWAYS HOTTER UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH. Therefore, the evolution of the last week of the month seems to be more and more delineated, with the North African currents that will intensify day by day, becoming more and more warm. The trajectory they will follow will be from Algeria to the French-Iberian Mediterranean sectors and Italy, with involvement also in central Europe. The Italian regions most directly concerned would, therefore, Sardinia and the northern central regions, especially on the Tyrrhenian side. On the other hand, the Adriatic side was initially more "cool", exposed to a residual northern flow flowing along the right border of the anticyclonic promontory of North Africa, but at the end of the week also the rest of Italy. In the first part of the week, thermal values could reach peaks of 34-36 ° C in the Po Valley, 35-38 ° C between Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio and peaks of up to 40 ° C in the interior areas of Sardinia. In addition to the high temperatures, the climate must be reported, destined to remain stable throughout Italy, with few daytime phenomena that will be limited to the areas of the Alps and the Apennines.
