In 1935 Paolo Pernigotti buys the company Enea Sperlari. In 1936, Paolo began a new production, the one of preparations for ice cream, that still is one of the strengths of the company. In 1944, a bombing destroyed the factory that was rebuilt and transferred to the old military warehouses of Viale della Rimembranza, which are now closed.

Paolo Pernigotti, son of Stefano Pernigotti, took the place of Paolo in the sixties in 1971 he acquired Streglio, specializing in cocoa products. In the 1980s, a period of crisis occurred that led to the sale of Sperlari in 1981 to the Americans of the H.J. Henry Company.
