THEHuawei has announced the official announcement of the new artificial intelligence development platform. HiAi 2.0 will not only be easier to use, but will also support a greater number of devices
L & # 39;artificial intelligence is the technology that promises to revolutionize our lives. Even though we are just at the beginning of this innovation, there are certainly no shortage of apps.
Huawei he was one of the first producers to introduce a true one with his SoC Kirin 970 last year dedicated calculation unit artificial intelligence. This enabled devices equipped with this processor to recognize texts, images and optimize photos much more quickly and efficiently. In 2018 Huawei does even better with the Kirin 980, which we find within the Mate 20 series, with processing times in the machine learning half. Brute force, however, is useless if there are no software tools to manage it: that is why it is born HiAi 2.0, a series of tools to act as a link to develop optimized applications through artificial intelligence.
HiAi 2.0: what will change Huawei compared to before?
When Huawei launched the P20 series in 2017, the first version of the HiAi 1.0 development platform also arrived. you Wang Chenglu, chairman of CBG's software division at Huawei Consumer Business Group, to talk about the possibilities of the old development system, only for new features introduced with the new HiAi 2.0.
HiAi 1.0 its architecture was based on 3 levels of core-end-cloud optimize performance; nuclei at the physical level could 90 different operations, the final level of software (ie locally on the device) supported 22 APIs and finally, the cloud level could offer beyond 500 different services. HiAi 2.0 platform applications included in-camera scene processing via Master in IA, some third-party apps like Prisma (an application that lets you apply the style of some famous painters and paintings in your photos) and the Microsoft translator.
The basic architecture of the new HiAi 2.0 remained very similar, but Huawei decided to present some interesting news. In addition to improving the physical level, with the new Kirin 980 NPU, the new platform will be compatible with most AI frameworks more widely used, increasing compatibility with different applications and helping third-party developers to incorporate artificial intelligence into their products. There will also be more advanced support for available APIs, in order to enhance existing features such as recognition of scenes, and introduce new and innovative, for example document recognition and scanning or augmented reality. The cloud level has also become more usable with suggestions and direct services.
Finally, as a treat, Wang Chenglu revealed that the new development suite will be supported by more devices, belonging to very different ranges of price and use; in fact, we do not just talk about smartphones, but we'll find the benefits of HiAi 2.0 on tablets, laptops and other smart devices as well.
Later, we'll have more detailed information on what devices are actually involved. Continue to follow our mobile section to stay current!
