EUROPEAN IP PROJECT

The new Kuga 2019 features stylish details that reflect those of Fiesta and Focus, starting with clusters of front light with full LED with teardrop design, through the ST-Line sports package and ending with the emblem on the back K U G A in large print (removed from the Ford Focus, recently revised in HDmotori).

The lines are smoother and more elegant in comparison to the model it replaces, with more attention to details and hatchback proportions. Also interesting is the "coupe-like" solution chosen for the tail, with a heavily tilted rear window. ST-Line will be just one of the three different lines that will make up the Kuga line: at your side, there will indeed be the elegant titanium and the plush Vignale, the latter with exclusive details and the possibility of mounting alloy wheels up to 20 inches.

FINALLY WITH DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION

Protagonist of new horizontal development board it's the digital instrumentation with 12.3-inch TFT display and the characteristic free-form technology that allows the contours of the screen to be shaped without the constraints of the rectangular design. The system offers real 24-bit color technology for high definition images and icons with the best readability.

Display the inevitable central screen of the SYNC 3 infotainmentwith 8 inch touch, tighten and steal function and compatibility Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system integrates with the Wi-Fi modem for 10 devices and accessories such as wireless charging for smartphones.

Access the car remotely through theFordPass Application, which uses the integrated modem FordPass Connect To start the engine, locate the vehicle when parked and unlock the doors.

SEMI AUTONOMOUS GUIDE WITH FORD CO-PILOT

Among other equipment that certainly will not miss is the ADAS package Ford Co-Pilot, a truly complete set that confirms all the innovations recently introduced in Focus: the system is brand new Staying on track with blind spot assist (controls the blind corner actively intervening on the steering wheel to avoid collisions), to which they stand side by side Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Track Centering, Pre-collision Assistance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Dodge Direction Assist, Wrong Way Alert, Impact with automatic maxima and semi-autonomous update of Active Park Assist.

THREE DIFFERENT HYBRIDS

The Ford Kuga range will three different hybrid variants, in addition to the versions with internal combustion engine gasoline EcoBoost and diesel ecoblue of last generation.

Kuga Plug-in Hybrid proposes a gasoline engine 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle, combined with an electric propeller and a 14.4 kWh battery capacity. The total power shall be 225 hp, with an electric range greater than 50 km, petrol consumption of 1.2 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 29 g / km. This variant proposes different driving modes (EV Auto, EV Now, EV Later and EV Charge), with 4 hours of estimated recharge for a standard 230 V (alternatively it is possible to recharge the battery by regenerative braking or with the specific EV Charge driving mode using the combustion engine).

Kuga EcoBlue Hybrid offers a system mild hybrid to give more inspiration to the engine 2.0 4-cylinder, 150 HP EcoBlue diesel engine, but also to reduce consumption. Ford's Mild-Hybrid technology involves the presence of a start / generator (BISG) that replaces the standard alternator, allowing the recovery and storage of energy during small 48 V lithium-ion battery. The BISG also allows you to provide extra torque to the engine. The system integrates with the Start-Stop, and the result is a combined consumption of 5 liters of diesel per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 132 g / km.

Kuga Hybrid Instead, it's a traditional hybrid (like the Mondeo Hybrid just reviewed on HDmotori), where the protagonist is always the engine 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline, flanked by an electric motor and a small battery. This variant will be combined with an automatic gearbox and intelligent front or integral traction: CO2 emissions of 130 g / km and petrol consumption of about 5.6 liters per 100 km are expected.

The range of engines available for the new generation of Kuga is 2.0 EcoBlue 190 HP diesel engine, O 1.5 EcoBlue with 120 hp it's the 1.5-liter EcoBoost 3-cylinder 120 and 150 hp with deactivation of one of the cylinders. In the versions EcoBlue 120 CV and 190 CV is available the 8-speed automatic transmission of Ford. O all wheel drive All Wheel Drive can be combined with the 2.0 of 190 hp. Present the driving methods of the Drive Mode (Normal, Sport, Eco and Slippery).
