A woman gave birth on a crowded Galway train to Heuston this afternoon after she entered the train station in the town of Kildare.
The Irish Independent is reporting that the 3.05pm service from Galway arrived in Kildare around 5pm and emergency services were called to the site.
The woman had been treated on the train by staff, passengers and a doctor on leave. She gave birth to a girl aboard the train before being taken to the hospital.
The train was late in Kildare for about an hour and 10 minutes before continuing its journey to Heuston.
