The first photo of the black hole will be made public


Jakarta (ANTARA) – The United States National Science Foundation has scheduled a press conference in Washington to showcase the results of the "Event Horizon Telescope" project in the form of recent photographs of black holes or black holes.

The EHT, quoted by Reuters on Sunday, was an international collaboration formed in 2012. Scientists involved in the project have observed black holes and the environment.

"This is a visionary project, taking the first photo of a black hole. We collaborate with more than 200 people worldwide," said astrophysicist Shepherd Doeleman, director of the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard, Harvard and Smithsonian.

Scientists target two very large black holes. The first black hole called "Sagittarius A", located in the center of the Milky Way.

The second black hole, called M87, is located near the center of the Virgo Galaxy, measuring 3.5 billion times the distance and 54 million light-years away.

Black holes or black holes are spaces that form when large stars are destroyed at the end of their lives. The size of the black holes varies, supermassive black holes are the largest, devouring material and radiation and also joining other black holes.

University of Arizona astrophysicist Dimitrios Psaltis defines black holes as "extreme curves over time." This term refers to three spatial dimensions and a time dimension combined into four dimensions of the continuum.

According to Doeleman, the first data was from a global network of telescopes in April 2017. The telescope was deployed in the US, Arizona, and Hawaii, as well as in other countries, Mexico, Chile, Spain and Antarctica. After that, they also installed telescopes in France and Greenland.

Scientists in the project will also examine for the first time the dynamics around black holes, including the orbit close to the speed of light before being sucked into the vacuum.

This research is very difficult because black holes do not emit light. Scientists will look for halos, that is, radiation that surrounds the event of the horizon at high speed, around the darkness of black holes.

This area is known as the shadow of a black hole silhouette or black hole.

Einstein's theory, if true, will give a precise shape and size of a black hole. The theory also affirms the shadow of a black hole in the shape of a perfect circle.

"If our findings differ from predictions of existing theories, we will go back to zero and say," there is nothing certain, "Psaltis said.
