BANDUNG – The Central Government and West Java Province have built the West Java International Airport (BIJB) on a very large budget. Unfortunately, the number of passengers crossing Kertajati airport is still missing.
Sugiharjo, in a discussion with reporters in Lembang, West Java, said last week that his office has continued to conduct research on BIJB's operations in Kertajati, Majalengka, the head of the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Transport (Balitbang Kemenhub) . So his party saw that there were a number of things that were the focus for BIJB to be packed with passengers and airlines or airlines.
"Land access to and from Kertajati Airport needs to be optimized as we continue to coordinate with local governments the development of tourism there," said Sugiharjo.
According to him, the land access to and from BIJB, which is currently the most optimized, is the train and the Cleunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll Road (Cisumdawu). Regarding the airport train for BIJB, it states that this plan is being prepared by the Directorate General (DG) of the railways. While the Cisumdawu toll road is being developed by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
"In addition, what is currently being researched and developed is the presence of means of transport, such as Damri and other public transport," said Sugiharjo.
Meanwhile, the director general of railways of the Ministry of Transport Zulfikri said that the reactivation plan began this year. There are four routes that will be revived, namely the route of Banjar-Cijulang-Pangandaran-Parigi, Garut-Cikajang, Cikudapateu Bandung-Banjaran-Ciwidey and Rancaekek-Tanjungsari.
"The BIJB is flanked by the Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan regions, as far south of Central Java as Cirebon and Tegal. For this reason, rail access to the airport is very possible with a railway reactivation model or manufacturing from a special rail to the airport train, and then it can be connected via the Bandung-Kroya line, which is being reactivated, "he said.
It's just that Zulfikri's reactivation process is still hampered by budget issues, so his part is still looking for sources of multi-party resources. Through the reactivation of the train line, the community is increasingly facilitated to move.
