TRIBUNLAMPUNG.CO.ID, KOTABUMI – A citizen assisted by Kotabumi Class IIA Prison, named Rendi Ardi Saputra, died at Ryacudu Kotabumi General Hospital.

He died of tuberculosis (TB).

Class II chief A prison of Kotabumi Tetra Destorie said the people assisted died on March 15.

Rendi was referred to the General Hospital of Ryacudu at 04.45 WIB and began to be critical from 05.30 WIB.

"From the results of a medical examination, the WBP (residents of prisoners) was diagnosed with pulmonary TB."

"As his health condition deteriorated and his consciousness declined, the WBP finally died," he said when confirmed by the Tribune on Tuesday (3/19/2019).

Sudiyanto, Aisyiyah Lampung's HIV / AIDS Project Manager, said his party was concerned about the death of a prisoner in Kotabumi prison.

According to him, prisons or detention centers should be one of the priority places that are routinely conducted and the regular screening of the citizens assisted.

"Prisons or detention centers in Indonesia are densely populated".

"Detainees are susceptible to contraction of tuberculosis, so every patient detected by HIV-TB must be guaranteed access to medicines and special treatment not to pass on to other citizens served," said Sudiyanto. (*)
