It is likely to be a struggle between BJP Member Shatrughan Sinha and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad at the parliamentary seat of Patna Sahib in the election of Lok Sabha on May 19 in the last phase of national polls. Prasad must receive an appointment to the BJP for the seat of Patna Sahib Lok Sabha. However, it is not yet clear which party Sinha will represent in the Lok Sabha polls.

Sinha said last week that he would reveal on March 22, the day after the Holi festival, which party he would contest in the election of Lok Sabha. Sinha has criticized the BJP and the Narendra Modi government and has openly aligned with the opposition parties in the last two years.

In the latter case, Sinha made a search on the radio address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for security guards around the country on the eve of Holi, the festival of colors. "Lord, please address the long-awaited problems rather than approaching the Chowkidars. Let's all play Holi instead of" Rafale Chor and Chowkidar, "Sinha wrote on Twitter.

Patna Sahib Member of Parliament participated in two of the mega ralis organized by the opposition camp in Kolkata (January 19) and New Delhi (February 13). At both rallies, Sinha had targeted the Modi government over the Rafale business.

The disgruntled MP of the BJP often referred to his proximity to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, who is serving a prison sentence in connection with one of the cases of forced evasion. The RJD and Congress are part of the opposition alliance in Bihar. The two sides, however, have not yet reached a seat-sharing agreement for the Lok Sabha polls.

"Mahagathbandhan (grand-alliance) is intact. Seats and constituencies will be announced after Holi. There is nothing to worry about. All is well in the alliance, "ANI Tejashwi Yadav, the youngest son of Lalu Prasad, said on Wednesday.

Yadav's comment goes in sync with Sinha's statement, where he spoke about revealing his candidacy for the Lok Sabha polls. Sinha, however, has stated on some occasions that he would contest the parliamentary constituency of Patna Sahib.

There are speculations that Sinha may seek the re-election of her Patna Sahib electorate as RJD candidate.

Sinha is a double MP sitting on the seat of Patna Sahib Lok Sabha. In 2014, he defeated Gopal Prasad Sinha, of Janata Dal-United, partner of the BJP alliance in Bihar. In 2009, the actor who became a politician won the spot after defeating the television personality Shekhar Suman, who disputed the party's Congressional entry.

Bihari Babu, as Sinha is popularly known, was a minister in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He held the portfolios of the ministry of health and maritime transport during his time as minister of the Union in government. Sinha was then a member of the Rajya Sabha, where she served for two consecutive terms between 1996 and 2008.

He is ready to face a challenge from his former cabinet colleague of the Union, Ravi Shankar Prasad, the senior leader of the BJP. Both were part of Vajpayee's government until 2004. Both leaders are considered the protégés of veteran Lj Krishna Advani of the BJP.

However, the official list of BJP candidates was not released. But it is likely that Prasad will seek his first election to the Lok Sabha from Patna Sahib's seat. Prasad is the Union Minister for Law and Justice and Information Technology.

Prasad gained fame in the 1990s as a lawyer, who filed a public-interest suit against Lalu Prasad in the case of the fodder stroke. His father, Thakur Prasad, was Minister of the Government of Karpoori Thakur in Bihar during the 1970s. He is MP of the Rajya Sabha since 2000. Prasad was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the third term in 2012.
