Rishabh Pant, Ambati Rayudu is named among the selections of the India World Cup 2019

Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu, who were excluded from the cast of 15 members of India for the 2019 World Cup, were named among the stands on Wednesday. Pace Bowl Navdeep Saini also found a spot on the list of three back-ups for the mega event starting in England and Wales on May 30. "As well as the ICC Champions Trophy, we have three hopes: Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu are the first and second standings, while Saini is the player on the roster, so if anyone gets hurt, by the way, one of three will be going," a BCCI official told PTI on Wednesday.

The exclusion of Pant and Rayudu from the team created a major upheaval on Monday. While Sunil Gavaskar called the omission of Pant amazing, contempt for Rayudu was questioned by Gautam Gambhir.

Dinesh Karthik, 33, received the wicketkeeper's second place over the 21-year-old, ending days of speculation about the role.

While Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan and Deepak Chahar travel with the team purely as network players, they can also be called if the administration feels that way.

"Khaleel, Avesh and Deepak are not appointed. In the case of bowling players, this possibility exists, but when it comes only to scouts, it will be Rishabh or Rayudu," the official said.

India, second placed behind England in one-day matches, reached the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup, where they lost to Australia.

India must play their opening match on June 5 against South Africa in Southampton.
