For the Kings XI Punjba led by KL Rahul, it was an upside-down season in the Premier League of India 2020. The tournament in the United Arab Emirates started on a bad note for KXIP, which lost six of the first seven games. But the franchise has now made an impressive comeback, winning four games in a row to push itself through the race to reach the playoffs.
Although the path was not an easy one for KL Rahul & Co., ex-India cricketer and two-time IPL winner Captain Gautam Gambhir believes that a change in team formation has brought KXIP a twist. (Full Coverage IPL 2020)

Gambhir credited young player Arshdeep Singh for his performance in death overs, and said he gave Rahul options in death – which he did not have in the first seven games.
“The best thing is that KL Rahul now has three quick pitchers to whom he can hit the ball in death goals – Mohammed Shami, Chris Jordan and Arshdeep Singh,” said Gambhir on ESPNCricinfo.
“If you look at the first seven games for KXIP, KL Rahul had to research who to overshoot deaths. Now he has three options. When any captain has three options in death – it’s a luxury.
“The credit for that I would like to give Arshdeep Singh. Because Mohammed Shami and Chris Jordan are international bowling players. But Arshdeep is a young domestic cricketer and played well in deadly matches. It helped to change the structure and remuneration of the entire team, since Arshdeep is on the football team, ”he said.
