The Renault Kwid 2020 facelift model receives new split headlight design with tail lights adjusted and a new bumper assembly
The Renault Kwid 2020 facelift model was first seen in India. The updated model comes with many design changes. Most of the changes are focused on the front, as the company has given a split headlining design, which is similar to that of the newly revealed EV version at the Shanghai Auto Show. The conventional headlamp position is obtained by LED DRLs.
The headlights are positioned below and the bumper also gets a new design. The front grille is also new and gives the Kwid a muscular look. The side remains the same as the current model and still does not come with alloy wheels, while the rear side gets rear lights and a new bumper.
The stained test mule has a built-in spoiler at the back, but it loses the ceiling rails and the company can introduce the updated model with some new color options. The interior should also receive some changes, such as the control panel and the quality of the materials should also improve compared to the current model.
The touch-screen infotainment system can receive new software with connectivity options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The all-digital instrument cluster is likely to be maintained. The hatchback comes with features of rear parking sensors, power windows, manual AC and more.
Renault is likely to make some changes to the chassis as the hatch must meet the next impact test and strengthen the body as well. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, driver and passenger seatbelt alert and more.
The French manufacturer can upgrade the current 0.8 L and 1.0 L engines to meet BSVI emission standards. The 0.8 L engine produces 53 hp and 72 Nm while the 1.0 L engine produces 67 hp and 91 Nm. These engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual and AMT 1.0 L engine. Renault Kwid's facelift is expected to be released later this year or early next year.
