AMD Ryzen 3000 CPUs with up to 16 cores / 32 threads to be released in December 2019

According to the TechPowerUp CPU Database listings, the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 9 3800X processors will launch in December of this year. Zen2 chips are some of the most anticipated hardware components. According to the TPU database, the Ryzen 7 3700X will be a part of 12 cores with 24 cores, with a clock up to 5GHz. The latter is supposed to be a 16-core chip with SMT, raising the thread count to 32. The 3800X should increase up to 4.7GHz.

The database points to GlobalFoundries as the manufacturer that is incorrect as we all know that AMD chips will be provided by TSMC. The L3 cache is indexed at 32MB for both chips, with the cache of 512K L2 and 96K L1, per core. The rest of the information is as expected, the architecture being Zen2 with the process size of 7nm. The Ryzen 7 3700X is rated at a TDP of 105W, while Ryzen 9 at 125W, which is quite reasonable considering that both processors contain 10 or more cores.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / 3600 with 8C / 16T and Ryzen 3300X / 3300 with 6C / 12T

The TechPowerUp CPU database also points to the Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 processors, but erroneously includes its March 2019 release date. This may be a typo, with the release date being in March 2020 or the same as the highest. SKUs The Ryzen 3 3300X and 3300 are both hex-core, with the latter having a higher impulse of 4.3GHz and the non-X part limited to 4GHz. Unlike Intel's naming scheme, AMD's non-X parts also feature an unlocked multiplier for full overclocking support. They have 16MB of shared L3 cache and the same size of L2 and L1 as the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 chips. The Ryzen 5 3600X and 3600 are octa-core processors with 16 threads and the same cache configuration as their Ryzen 3 equivalents Their clocks are set at 4.8 GHz for the first and 4.4 GHz for the latter.

Last but not least, there is also the Ryzen 7 3700 (non-X) which is identical to the 3700X, except with a reduced TDP and a pulse clock. It has a 4.6GHz clock with a TDP requirement of less than 95W. The 3700 as the 3300 and 3600 also has an unlocked multiplier, and should also allow for a decent level of overclocking. All Zen2-based CPUs must be compatible with AMD's existing AM4 socket, as reiterated in this listing.

Like the initial wave of Zen CPUs, Zen2 processors are expected to send waves through the CPU market, further destabilizing Intel in the consumer and server segments. If these specifications are true then the blue team will have the prices of their 9th Core line to stay in the game. When Ryzen chips were first released, Intel panicked by releasing several of the Xeon Server processors as Skylake-X chips further complicating its already confusing naming scheme without adding any significant part to its arsenal.

On the server side, the AMD Epyc Rome processor should set precedence with Intel, which is expected to lose about 10 percent of the market by the end of the year. The Rome chip is a giant with 64 Cores and 128 Wires and has already been commissioned by many prominent companies.

AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su is due to unveil the Ryzen 3000 product line at a pre-Computex press conference on May 27. She is ready to be the keynote speaker at the event.
