The German law on the introduction of a special traffic tax on cars with foreign (non-German) signs violates European law. This decision was announced by the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
The judges considered Austria, which, with the support of the Netherlands, made a complaint alleging that law enforcement in Germany would be discriminatory, since the charge would be levied only on owners and drivers of vehicles registered in other EU countries, therefore , also in Greece.
