Emiliano Sala: Police arrest suspects after football player's death

It's been five months since Argentinian footballer Emiliano Sala died in a plane crash in the English Channel. Now the UK police have arrested a suspect in the case. A 64-year-old man from North Yorkshire is accused of negligent homicide for an "illegal act," police in Dorset said. The suspect cooperates with the investigators and has been released for the time being.

More details on the man's identity did not mention the police. Nor was it clear how it relates to Sala's death.

A single-engine propeller plane with 28-year-old David Ibbotson on board disappeared from the radar on January 21, about 20 km north of the Channel Island of Guernsey. Sala was on his way to his new club after a million changes from FC Nantes to FC Cardiff City.

In early February, Sala's body was discovered in the plane crash at the end of the English Channel and recovered shortly thereafter. The corpse of the pilot was not found.
