A garden show, a unicorn, a body painting: in small clothes, a councilwoman from Schwäbisch Gmünd caused a commotion. The prime minister of Baden-Württemberg finds all the excitement "quite overwhelmed".
As good as naked and disguised as a unicorn, a local politician caused a stir at a garden show in Baden-Württemberg. In fact, it was all about sending pets on the stage. The left-wing councilwoman, Cynthia Schneider, was wrapped in a pastel color, unicorn cap and a slender slide that resembled Schwäbisch Gmünd's coat of arms.
At the opening of the garden show for Schorndorf, Schwäbisch Gmünd and surrounding towns, there was a lot of hype – and then powerful. Because the thirties really wanted to remain anonymous in action. "The OB has assured me that I can act incognito," she told Bild. On the network she received quick comments, but also encouraged her "fantasy".

"Nothing against the unicorns, but the way it was presented, of course, was not very appropriate," said Thorsten Englert, director of the Remstal gardening program, on Wednesday. He was expressly undisturbed that the leftist politician was almost naked under the color. "That did not hit me like that."
"Do not lead to fundamentalist debates at all events"
Instead, the appearance of the garden showed itself and the other 15 participating communities also stolen the show: The photos circulating for the opening on Friday focused on the smiling Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (green), alongside him the upbeat Cynthia Schneider with rhinestones and butterflies on the bare chest and unicorn on the forehead.
The head of state of Baden-Wuerttemberg reacted calmly on Wednesday after the performance of the unicorns. "We should not lead to fundamentalist debates at all events, which I think is completely comprehensive," he said in Stuttgart. Everyone can evaluate performance as they wish. "One finds the humorous, the other interesting, the next pop, the next, but stupid. We are in a free society." In any case, the children on stage would have enthusiastically surrounded the pseudonym of Schneider unicorn. "Kindergarten children are not impressed by any semi-naked breast, the character fascinates them, and they simply portray them in an incredible way."
The mayor of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Richard Arnold (CDU), understands the words according to his spokesperson and also the excitement is not quite so. "He remains fully committed to action." The fact that Schneider wanted to remain anonymous was not understood by the OB as an agreement. "You know each other anyway," the spokesman said. On the stage, Arnold said with a vision of the unicorn: "This is how the councilmen look like Ostalbkreis." However, this makes Rathauschef lament that Schneider has moved as a person and politician in the center. He mentioned her to the action because she had experience as a bodypainting model. With her as a councilwoman who had nothing to do.
The left faction in Schwäbisch Gmünd looked like the last Friday on Monday in a press release "considered unhappy and regrets." It had not been discussed with party and faction. Schneider himself was not available for comment.
The garden show has not hurt all the excitement so far. According to Englert, the 100,000 guests at Remstal visited the opening weekend.
