A letter from the youth of Charles Baudelaire announcing his intention to commit suicide was sold for 234 thousand euros, Sunday, November 4 in the auction of Osenat's house of missivas by the author of Flowers of Evil. WThis letter, dated June 1845 and addressed to his lover Jeanne Duval, was estimated at between 60,000 and 80,000 euros – three to four times less than the price at which it was finally sold. It will now be part of a private French collection, the auction house said.
