One Person Killed, Two Wounded in Fire Exchange in Amhara Town

North-Shoa-Amhara-Ethiopia "src =" "style =" float: left; height: 232px; margin: 4px; width: 300px "/> October 6, 2019 ( - At least one person was killed and two others injured in fire that occurred in Ataye town of Eferata Gidem district of North Shoa in Amhara regional state of Ethiopia .</p><p>Eyewitnesses told Ezega that residents of the Ataye town have been told to stay at home the gun shots are going on in the area, including from heavy arms.</p><p>The guns shots can still be heard in places called Suni Mewicha and Abubeker mountain areas where the armed groups are reportedly hidden.</p><p>According to the eyewitness, the security problem relapsed after an armed individual refused to lay down arms as members of security forces of the region ordered him to do so. The suspect was shot dead before he made any moves.</p><p>The individual was said to have been armed with three bombs, one Kalashnikov and walking around in places which are under the control of the command post which was deployed after armed groups claimed lives of several people in April this year.</p><p>The eyewitness said the security problem is expanding in the neighboring localities as members of the Ethiopian defense forces and the state's Liyu force launched a counter attack against the attacking force.</p><p>Mayor of the Ataye town Getachew Bekele confirmed the security problem occurring in the outskirt of the town, particularly in Alela and Yemelo localities, where gunshots from heavy arms were heard.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Amhara state security bureau announced seizure of 71 Kalashnikovs and 2221 pistols being smuggled in a fuel truck near Gonder city of northern Ethiopia.</p><p>The ammunition loaded on the fuel truck with plate number 3-99935 were captured at a place called Ayimba.
