Lena Dunham called herself an "idiot" and begged people to stop calling Jemima Kirke, the former co-star of Girls, after she accidentally shared her private phone number online.
Dunham had been posting pictures of herself with best friend Kirke in her Instagram Story.
However, in one of the posts – a screenshot of a FaceTime call that once lasted an hour and a half – Dunham could not hide Kirke's phone number.
Kirke then sent a message to Dunham, telling her to remove the post, because the "phone does not stop" with messages and fan calls.
Dunham quickly added a message to her story on Instagram, in which she said: "You know I accidentally put @Jemima_Jo_Kirke's number on Instagram, but plz did not call or send a message to her, she's a mom :(" .
She added, "I was trying to be cool and made a big mistake."
The 32-year-old actress and writer Dunham revealed a snapshot of Kirke's messages.
Dunham had told her "I'm just an idiot" and "I'm sorry, oh my God".
Actress Kirke, 33, told her that text messages and phone calls were "relentless."
However, Dunham assured him three million followers that Kirke had taken his error in a good mood by writing, "I'm really an idiot, she laughed, I'm very lucky."
She mocked herself with another post, a photo of the two together, along with which she wrote: "I'm sorry Jemima Lolol."
Dunham and Kirke have achieved fame together in the comedy drama series Girls, written by Dunham.
