Benefiting Honor Darcy Belanger, Charity To Continue His Legacy – CBS Denver

DENVER (CBS4)– The life and work of the Denver man, Darcy Belanger, is being honored after his death. He was one of 157 victims of the 737 Max 8 plane crash in Ethiopia in March.

Darcy was in Africa on a charity mission. Now the Stanley Marketplace companies are working to continue their legacy.

Aime Belanger says her husband Darcy was the kind of person who loved to reciprocate and inspired others to do the same.

"When he meets someone, he really knows who they are. All about them in a way that inspires them to be a better version of themselves, "said Aime.

Darcy hoped to persuade them to create an environmental protection zone in the Arctic, but the flight he made on Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 crashed shortly after takeoff.

"I am truly honored and blessed because my husband has chosen me to go through this journey of life together. It may have been short, but it was great, "Aime said.

At the time, she administered Kindness Yoga at the Stanley Marketplace. Now your friends and co-workers want to do something to honor your husband. They are holding a yoga-based donation session on Saturday, April 20. All the money raised will go to the cause Darcy was defending when he died.

"It's a way for all of us, as yogis, to help the larger population get into it," Aime said.

In addition, the Stanley Marketplace stores are donating part of their sales from Saturday. Aime says she is surprised and honored by the support she has received and wants to use it to defend Darcy's cause, even if he has left.

"I did not order flowers or gifts … that was part of my husband's legacy."
