Mauritania qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the first time in history



Mauritania qualified for the African Cup of Nations for the first time in their history after a precious victory over Botswana by 2 goals on Sunday night in the fifth round of the Group Ninth qualifying round.

Hassan Al Eid and Ismael Giachetti scored in the 19th and 84th minutes.

The win lifted Mauritania's lead to 12 points at the top of the table and booked the pass and froze Botswana at the fourth and final point.

The next Nations Cup is set to take place in Cameroon in the summer of 2019.
